I've Been Out of Touch...But I'm Still Here

Hello, Everyone!!

OK, so I admit that I've been a little out of touch lately. I am still here and have been in the background reading everyone else's blogs, sometimes even commenting on them. I just really haven't been inspired to write much. I guess you could say that I took a summer hiatus!!

I haven't taken a vacation from my photography so I'll put a few new pics in.

We had a close call with Hurricane (then Tropical Storm) Ernesto back over Labor Day Weekend. In all my years living along the Shrewsbury River, I have NEVER seen the waves breaking over onto our "beach" (formerly known as our backyard) that fiercely or that close to the house. The river water even went into our pool so you can imagine what a stinky mess that was! It took days to clean that up.

But the most important thing is that our house stayed dry and we had no water in our crawlspace either!! If this storm had hit the old house it would not have been good. Luckily our 5 ft higher elevation SAVED us.

Pretty cool, huh? By the time the storm peaked in the pics above, the road was flooded and we were an island!!!! Lots of trees fell down and we lost electricity for about 6 hours.

So I just wanted everyone to know that YES, I AM STILL HERE!!!

Glad you're still there, Micah says "I member that pool, I was in that pool with Mommy, and Daddy, and Nonny." Well two out of three isn't bad.

Hey have you ever tried Google Earth (http://earth.google.com/)? It is pretty cool and you can see your house so clearly.
