On a much lighter note...Once in a while we have this strange occurrence here at Bellevue. It's like Hitchcock's "The Birds" -- an occurrence that is just amazing to see.
Maybe it's because we have this bird feeder that hubby keeps filled to the brim with bird seed, or maybe it's because the pool is open and at just the right temperature; whatever it is, there are probably THOUSANDS of them. It is truly something to see. 
Protective head gear is recommended during this period. I am surprised they didn't poop on me as I shot these pictures! They fly back and forth over the pool, swooping down to catch a drink from the pool! I can't believe they do this from all different directions and they don't crash into each other!
