OK, So It's My 30th HS Reunion Coming Up...

OK, so it's my 30th High School Reunion coming up (June 30th) and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I was one of those kids in school who had only a few very close friends and didn't get involved in anything school related; I was happy to graduate in 1976 and to be finished with school.

We've been lucky to have an active group of class officers who have managed to hold reunions for our 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and now the 30th. I have stayed local, sometimes run into some of my fellow classmates, but for the most part haven't seen too many people lately. The last reunion I attended was the 20th, so it will be 10 years since I saw most of the people. It's funny how everyone has changed over the years. And I find it interesting that even though most of these people did not know me AT ALL in school, they are quite friendly at the reunions.
I've got my tickets already, but am wondering what I will see after all these years -- I am just hoping that life has been good to them all. And I'm hoping to get the award for the one who changed the least! Wish me luck...

I am one of those people who is firmly committed to never, ever attending any of my highschool reunions. Yet, I'm always the first one to say "Yes, of course you should go to your reunion, it would be fun," to other people. Maybe I'm just afraid I would get the "Most Changed Award" too. I used to be a hippy-girl with long flowing skirts, fur-lined boots, blue-dyed hair, and my nose in a book. Now I'm a stay-at-home mom of two with long hair and a pretty boring wardrobe but I guess I still always have my nose in a book!

Well Cj, what have you got to lose? I must say though, I do agree with sarah on the probably never ever going to a school reunion....Well, when you're voted most likely to take over the world by your entire senior class, it could be a challenge going back and not having done so...hehehe

cj..yes!! yes!! go!! i went to my 30th. it was a hoot. i was very shy in school but i'm not anymore. people change in all sorts of ways...well most of them do. a few people at mine kept passing a microphone around and "yada!yada!" i looked at my friend and said "those people thought they were popular in school and still do!!!HA!!!" people came up to me to chat and i have to tell you i must have suffered major brain death because even with name tags i didn't know some people. anyhow it was enlightening and i got to DANCE which i love!! go, have fun..then tell us all about it!! jen
